Early Work
These academic drawings and paintings were done in New York from 1998 to 2002 and are foundation of the work that I do now. One can see clues in my recent paintings from this earlier work. For example, I had a chance to paint the Parthenon Frieze eight times over these four years and my enthusiasm for it's great design can be found in my still life paintings today. Painting the frieze was how I supported myself while living in New York.
